As you can see the growth of the facebook revenue to approximately 16 billion dollars  in the year 2019

And the founder is Mark Zuckerberg , it is started in the year 2004


Coming to the main topic 

most of the revenue is generated from ads service upto 99%

And the 1% is generated from the facebook products like headset and etc 

At the staring, ads are displayed randomly regardless of the age, gender and etc 

After few year it became organised called as target audience  (meaning of target audience , the specific group of customers most likely to want your product  or service)

The main advantage is its user  data base  of approximately 2.9 billion active users  which is very important for ad services, and it also has a 7 million advertisers who publish their ads and run they business 

It collects the information about you and what kind of person you are, and what are you interested ,what type of clothing ,and food , your salary basically every thing about you to improve the ad service to you

And it even gives the options to the advertisers to select the customers based on the data they had collect,  so that you can buy  the product or the services
